Building upon years of experience working together in consumer products, in 2012 David Watkins and Nora Levinson founded ADOPTED in Shanghai, China. They have since launched a successful line of cases for iPhone 5 in Apple Retail stores worldwide and built a global team to continue driving the creativity and growth of the company.
ADOPTED / DAWN is the first video in a series of vignettes that will introduce the ADOPTED story. We will touch on our founders, team, design and manufacturing process, and our journey forward. We look forward to sharing these experiences with you.

My daughter asked me to make a tilt-shift miniature shot for her to post to Instagram the other day, so I whipped this up from an old shot of Vancouver. I’d say it isn’t that successful - possibly too wide, and without any people. It seems that in the still approach, people are what really sell the miniature effect, whereas in motion it’s vehicles.

Eddie Flowers and Crawlspace : Anti-Club, Los Angeles 1987
Soon after I moved to Los Angeles from Bloomington, Indiana, my friend Mark McCormick (guitar) invited me to the visceral “Anti-Club” in Hollywood to see his band Crawlspace. Eddie posted the shot to his bio, and over the many years, it is consistently in my top Google results. I don’t know where the original is - probably (fittingly) in my garage somewhere.
