Phosphorescent Coral : Monterey Bay Aquarium
Jasper fell asleep in the car on the way back from the playground, so I drove us up to Forest Lawn Cemetery for some peace and quiet. It is a vast green space a few minutes from Downtown LA and Dodger Stadium. Huge pines make it an ideal place to find shade (if you don’t mind dead people!). Up the hill from us, a darkly dressed group bows their heads as a man sings a soft chant in Hebrew. A little ways away, a very casual funeral is underway - everyone is in t-shirts and shorts - perhaps honoring a Jimmy Buffet fan. Down the hill, surrounded by a sea of gravestones, a mom and her two children have set up camp next to an unremarkable gravesite. They have a small blue tent, a cooler, chairs, and some toys and games, as well flowers and a balloon. They appear to be making a day of it. This scene really got to me, and I’m reminded to treasure the present moment - in my case, sitting in a car with my sleeping baby, simply being.

Chili Pequins
My grandfather used to pick these tiny peppers and bottle them with vinegar. He told me a dash of the stuff (on anything except possibly sherbet) would put hair on my chest. Apparently he was not kidding.
I’m really trying to have a photo up for every day of the month. To prove what, I don’t know.
